Friends and colleagues of The Leverhulme Trust will be saddened to learn of the death of Sir Michael Angus on 13 March 2010. Sir Michael became a Trustee in 1984, contributing to the work and character of the Trust over a twenty-five year period. He was Chairman of the Trustees from 1999 until 2008.
Sir Michael gave every consideration to guiding the programmes of the Trust. He was particularly interested in the researchers and students who benefited from the Trust’s awards, valuing throughout the contribution which the individual can make to the progression of understanding; his intellectual curiosity covered the full span of disciplines.
The Trust wishes to express its gratitude for the opportunity to have enjoyed Sir Michael’s wisdom and vision throughout a long and happy association.
