PhD stipend increases from 1 October 2023

The Leverhulme Trust increases its minimum student stipend

The Leverhulme Trust Board has announced it will increase PhD stipend rates in line with UKRI rates. Rates will increase from 1 October 2023. The minimum stipend from 1 October 2023 will be £18,622 full-time equivalent. The increased stipend will be provided to all PhD students supported by the Trust.

If you have submitted an application recently that includes PhD students, you do not need to do anything. You will be advised on the process if your application is successful.

Current grant holders are advised to pay the new increased amount from 1 October 2023, and the Trust will make the appropriate adjustment at the end of the grant.
