Leverhulme Scholar wins Accompanist Gold Medal Prize

The Trust congratulates pianist Marek Ruszczynski on his success in winning the Accompanist Gold Medal at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s Gold Medal competition. This was held at the Barbican Hall on 5 May 2009, when Marek accompanied Baritone Derek Welton during his performance of G Butterworth’s, A Shropshire Lad.

Marek has already graduated from two conservatoires, receiving a BMus from the Royal Academy of Music in London and a Master’s degree from the Academy of Music in Gdansk, Poland. Currently, he is studying vocal accompaniment as a pupil at Guildhall in London, where he is supported by the Trust.
