Individual scholars or students may not apply directly to the Trust.
Grants will be made to eligible institutions across the full range of the performing and fine arts. Such organisations will be specialist arts training institutions or registered charities which can demonstrate outstanding quality within their particular field. Institutions may make only one application for funding within this call, but funds may be requested for more than one type of artistic activity or form of financial support (e.g. summer school bursaries, postgraduate bursaries, innovative teaching awards for undergraduates, etc.). The applying organisation will be responsible for the selection of bursary recipients and for the selection and employment of staff in the case of innovative teaching activity.
Awards for continuing professional development (simply to provide a bridge between formal study and professional employment for recently-graduated students) are not available. University departments which teach fine and performing arts are not normally eligible to apply to this scheme. However, exceptions may be considered, where it can be demonstrated clearly that, for historical or institutional reasons, such units are effectively stand-alone entities with a specialist training remit in a particular performing or fine art.
